Capt. Zak Robinson offers guided fly fishing and light tackle trips from Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Rhode Island on an 18 foot Action Craft. Capt. Zak Robinson has a passion for sharing the ocean with new and experienced anglers alike. The local waters offer excellent fly fishing and light tackle opportunities for Striped Bass and Bluefish. Rhode Island has a great late summer/fall Bonito and False Albacore fishery.

TARGET SPECIES
When fishing in Portsmouth, NH the primary fish we catch is the striped bass. In Point Judith, RI, we are often looking for false albacore.
METHODS
Rising Tide Anglers offers a variety of fishing methods. You’ll go on the hunt for blitzing fish, flyrod in hand, as they feed at daybreak or prospect along the rocky shoreline with sinking lines for cruising fish. Transport yourself to the Caribbean. You’ll spend a tide searching for striper on the flats of the Piscataqua river as they scour the sand for crustaceans and baitfish. Last, when significant distance or depth is involved, reach for the light tackle gear. Perfect for anglers of all levels or those looking to have a relaxing day on the water. Customize your journey and get a little bit of everything.
BEST TIMES TO FISH
Stripers arrive as early as mid May, and the most consistent fishing is June and July. September is best for False Albacore in Rhode Island.
WHAT TO BRING
  • Snacks/Lunch (for trips longer than 4 hours)
  • Water – preferably in a reusable container
  • Sunscreen and SPF lip balm
  • Polarized sunglasses – amber or brown is best for flats fishing
  • Windbreaker and wind pants. Air temps on the water can be 15 degrees colder
  • Boat shoes, sandals or flipflops
  • Camera
  • Hat with a brim. A long brimmed hat with a dark underside is preferred
    *Lunch on the river can be arranged if desired (would incur an additional cost.

Pierce Island Public Boat Launch

Located on the south side of the island. There is limited free public parking at the launch.
